Control Points are contested areas of New Britannia, often separating regions from one another. Control Points may refer to one of the following:

Most control points feature incredibly dangerous opponents, but they also contain a banner of the enemy holding the point. This area is designated by a red glowing aura. Players can take over a control point by defeating the enemies and standing in that area, effectively holding the banner.

When players take over a control point, ever increasingly difficult waves of enemies will try to take the control point back from the players, culminating in a wave of “elite” enemies. Those elite enemies will continue to come in repeated waves until they can regain the control point.[1]

Lore[edit]

“Novia was shattered, as was most all parts of New Britannia, with the fall of the moons. Some regions were laid low, while others rose up, in the mighty cataclysm that reshaped the world. Mountain ranges now segregate wide swaths of Novia, where commerce once traveled easily. Today the few mountain passes that cross these mountains, often become places of ambush or battle, as control of these areas often implies control of the surrounding regions. One such pass which citizens struggle to keep clear is Vertas Pass. Dark Elves, remnants of the Obsidian Wars, feel this pass is within THEIR territory, and bar it from ANY other race. Woe be it to the traveling explorer or merchant, who needs to cross these mountains, when the flag of the Dark Elves flies over the high fortress!”
