Keyboard Controls[edit]

Movement[edit]

  • ‘W-A-S-D’ keys control Avatar movement
  • Press ‘NumLock’ key to engage in auto-run
  • Pressing the ‘SPACEBAR’ key will cause your Avatar to jump, the longer you hold down the ‘SPACEBAR’ the higher the Avatar will jump

Character Management[edit]

  • ‘C’ key or left-clicking the crossed swords & shield icon in the top right menu will bring up your Avatar’s paperdoll and character information
  • 'I' (pre r4 installations default to the ‘B’) key or left-clicking the bag icon in the top right menu will toggle open/close your inventory bags
    • To switch between inventory modes, open up the options menu (left click the gears icon in the top-right corner menu bar) and click the game tab, than the ‘Use List Inventory Mode’ check box
  • ‘N’ key displays the names of other players and NPCs over their head. This is not active by default
  • ‘O’ key opens emote list. Double left clicking on an emote activates it. You can also activate emotes by typing /<name of emote>
  • ‘F’ key brings up Social Window List where you can add or remove friends, manage your guild, or block other players
    • Friends Tab
      • Type in a name in the search field followed by the ‘ENTER’ key to add a user as a friend
      • Select a friend from the list and left click Unfriend to remove the selected friend
      • Can Right Click to bring up an avatar submenu for interaction options
    • Guild Tab
      • Type in a name in the search field followed by the ‘ENTER’ key to add a user as a guild member if you have permission
      • Can Right Click to bring up an avatar submenu for interaction options
    • Blocked Tab
      • Type in a name in the search field followed by the ‘ENTER’ key to add a user to your blocked list
      • Can Right Click to bring up an avatar submenu for interaction options
  • ‘U’ key displays the Deeds/Housing Management window
  • ‘ESC’ key exits all open interfaces
  • ‘Z’ key will sheathe or unsheathe your weapon

NPC Interaction[edit]

  • To converse with NPCs
    • In SPO/FPO: Simply stand near the NPC you wish to converse with, and hit the ‘ENTER’ key to bring up your chat log. Type what you wish to say to the npc within the chat box, and hit ‘ENTER’ again to send the text, which also exits text entry mode (as is standard in current MMOs).
    • In OPO: You must now target NPCs (click on them) for them to respond to your messages. This is to prevent NPCs from responding when you mean to talk to other players.
  • The chat log can be scrolled through by left click+dragging the slider on the right side of the chat window
  • In the Options menu you can disable the requirement to hit Enter before each text entry
  • Note that NPCs will not respond (at least not favorably) if you speak to them with an unsheathed weapon. Press ‘Z’ to toggle.

    • Note: this must be /w then the name followed by "," followed by the message. Your "," is how it knows the name entry is done (due to some having first and some having both first and last names).
  • /g - Guild channel

Mouse Controls[edit]

Movement[edit]

Holding both left and right mouse buttons will move the Avatar forward Mouse movement + holding right click controls the camera view

Interface[edit]

  • Crossed swords & shield: Access Avatar character information
  • Bag: Open up inventory
  • Gears: Options menu
    • To switch between inventory modes, open up the options menu (left click the gears icon in the top-right corner menu bar) and click the game tab, than the ‘Use List Inventory Mode’ check box.
  • Question Mark: Bring up help page
  • Sealed Letter: File a bug report
  • 'P' key ~ Displays a smoke trail above available lots in a city.

Equipment[edit]

Open the Avatar information screen (‘C’ key) and drag equipment onto the display avatar or corresponding highlighted equipment slot and release the left mouse button.

World Interaction[edit]

Generic Object Interaction[edit]

  • Objects in the world that highlight the cursor when hovered over can either be interacted with by double left-clicking or picked up by left click + dragging the mouse. Some examples of interactions:
    • Doors can be opened through interaction
    • Chests can be opened and looted through interaction
    • Light sources can be toggled on/off through interaction
    • Decorative items, crafting components, and equipment can be moved via holding left click+dragging items to their new desired location and releasing the left mouse button.

Housing Decoration[edit]

  • To decorate, make sure the avatar is within a housing lot (denoted by a runic sign post) then left click+drag objects from the Avatar’s inventory into the world then release the left mouse button when the object is green to place it in the world. A red object will not be placeable.
    • The ‘Q’ and ‘E’ keys will rotate the object.
    • Holding the ‘LSHIFT’ key while using ‘Q’ and ‘E’ to rotate will slow down the rotation for precision placement
    • To remove decorations, left click+drag an item from within the world back into the Avatar’s inventory.

Item Control[edit]

  • If you are holding down the CTRL key when you click-and-drag a stacked item, you will remove only one item from a stack of items.
  • If you instead hold down the SHIFT key, you will be presented with a dialog that asks how many you would like to move.
