Resetting Quests

(Redirected from Reset Quest State)
Jump to navigation Jump to search

You can reset the quest state of your character. You can do this at any time, but for best effect you should consider only doing so after many of the quests you’ve completed have received a great deal of polish and other additions.

  • Important! A character's quest state can only be reset once, so use this option wisely!

Resetting your avatar’s quest state has the following effects:

  • Your Quests and Tasks are Removed: All tasks will be removed from your active task list and journal. In their place will be a single task telling you to speak with Arabella.
  • Your Quest Items are Removed: All main-story quest items and quest rewards owned by your character are deleted.
  • Your Virtue Scores is Reset: Virtue scores are adjusted to a near-neutral state that includes some residual karma from past deeds.
  • You Forget Compass Discoveries: Your character no longer remembers the names and locations of any compass discoveries.
  • You Forget NPC Names: Your avatar no longer remembers the personal name of any NPC.
  • NPCs Forget Your Name: NPCs that knew the name of your character no longer do.

Note that resetting your quest state will not change your character’s location. When you log in after resetting your avatar’s quest state, your avatar will be in the same location as before you logged out. You will also not lose any emotes you have unlocked.

To reset your character's quest state, go to the Shroud of the Avatar login screen. Click the cog icon next to your avatar's name and begin the process by selecting the "Reset Quest State" option. Accept the options that follow to finish resetting your quest state. The resetting process will take a moment. Your avatar’s quest state will be reset when you next log in with that character.[1]
