"I found arcane catalyst on a siege engineer. I'd wager any scout in a siege would give their left arm to get some pieces of this chemical. I should find one in a siege and tell them what I found."
"I talked to a scout that asked me to eliminate as many siege engineers as I can. Also, if I find any arcane catalyst on their bodies, I should bring it to any scout in a siege.
How to Obtain the Quest[edit]
- To obtain this quest, you will first need to collect an Arcane Catalyst (which is a Quest Item that drops as loot from the Siege Engineers in the Town Sieges). Bring the Arcane Catalyst to the Scout at the siege's entrance. Talk to the Scout about the Arcane Catalyst, and he will give you the "Collect Arcane Catalyst" quest.
Completing the Quest[edit]
- Collect 36 Arcane Catalyst by killing and looting the Siege Engineers (you will need to visit more than one siege to collect enough; also, you can carry an unlimited number of them).
- Then, return to the Scout and give him the 36 Arcane Catalysts to claim the reward of gold, 106,496 experience points (212,992 during double XP), and a Shield of Attraction, Common.
- This is a Daily Quest that is repeatable once every 24 hours.
Hints[edit]
- There are 6 Siege Engineers that spawn around each of the 3 catapults (the Seige Egineers tend to spawn in waves of 1 or 2 at a time. When the wave is killed, the next wave will appear until all 6 have been killed). When you kill all six of the Siege Engineers around a catapult, the red flag near the catapult will disappear and the catapult will be deactivated (i.e. it will stop shooting fireballs). When you deactivate all 3 catapults, a boss or bosses will appear (either a lich or 1 or more Obsidian Cabalists). You must kill the bosses in order to lift the seige, but you do not need to kill the bosses to complete the "Collect Arcane Catalyst" quest.
