Moonshine[edit]
Moonshine is a small forested town dedicated to growing barley, and brewing whiskey.
The Legend of Moonshine[edit]
It is recorded amongst our world's oldest documents, that there was once a city named "Moon", which was overrun with corrupt mages. When these mages were driven out in the time of the First Avatar, the town was renamed "Moonglow", and became the city of Honesty.
Legend has it that the banished mages were considered "corrupt", not due to any particular character flaw, but merely because of a certain... shall we say, over-fondness, for alcoholic beverages... which occasionally led to lapses in judgement during spellcasting.
These mages went on to found their own, secret town, buried deep in the woods, where they continued to brew their whiskey, and practice their unconventional magics -- undisturbed by the snobbery of more "respectable" mages.
They named this town "Moonshine", and over the following centuries, legends of its existence became sufficently prevalent, that the mere WORD "moonshine" became synonymous with illicitly-brewed alcoholic drinks.
"Moonshine" maintains its privacy and secrecy to this day, but if you are fortunate enough to stumble across it, you are bound to discover the finest whiskey that Novia has ever produced...
