I know now that the "lost" disambiguator was never actually "lost." On a lead from the innkeeper, I went looking for Abtreek's friend, Korrul. I was hoping he would tell me what's going on, but instead I found his corpse. I found a hidden note written by Korrul that explains that Abtreek stole the precious disambiguator and planned to use it to improve his rank in their guild. My guess is Abreek figured out Korrul was going to confess and murdered him before he could. Before I go to anyone else, I need to confront Abtreek in his Grusk hiding spot with these new facts.

- You can go directly to the blacksmith without confronting the apprentice, but that will leave the Confront Abtreek quest in your Journal forever.
- You can let Abtreek buy your silence, then the quest ends here.
