Long ago incredible magical forces crafted this island on shards of the shattered moons where it still floats high above New Britannia. This scene can only be entered by using a Lunar Rift.
NPC's[edit]
- AAA-10101 (Mysteriously-Placed Tour Guide)
Lore[edit]
- For far too long, you have been trapped on Earth. You know your destiny lies in a realm called New Britannia! As you search the net for clues of this place and how to get there, you discover some who claim they have found gateways, "Lunar Rifts" some have called them. A few claim that these "rifts" have pulled their discoverers, at least their "astral projection", to a floating island, lost in a strange void. A void where the sky is filled with a wrecked moon, that encircles the strange island. That strange and wondrous things await visitors here… but none have been able to venture beyond. This becomes your new obsession. Perhaps this is the gateway you seek![1]

Trivia[edit]
- This is the location were you end up after leaving Earth, but before arriving in New Britannia; a sort of starting zone, but is currently not used for starting a character.
- The description of the Island is analogous to the Ethereal Void in the Ultima series.
- When this scene was used at Release, Arabella greets new Avatars coming from Earth, who are still unmanifested spirits, and guides them to a Magic Mirror where they can form a physical body. They then proceed to an Oracle Confirmatory, where the Oracle presents them with a series of questions that will determine which path they start down: Truth, Love, or Courage. These paths not only determine which plot thread you begin with, they also determine what your starting abilities are and what equipment you have.[2][3]
- New User Experience Polish & New Starting Sequence: We have been doing long term data analysis of incoming new players. We realized that many new players quit the game during Isle of Storms. We believe this is because the content in Isle of Storms is not representative of the best parts of the game as a whole. We have begun an iterative process to improve the new player experience, with a focus on ensuring that the new player experience is representative of the best parts of the game as a whole. Changes this release include:
- Start with Character Creation: Players begin by creating their character (name and appearance).
- Skip Isle of Storms: Players then start the game in Battle of Solace Bridge instead of Isle of Storms.
- Love Starting Path: To promote the most polished aspect of the game we now send all new players to the Path of Love versus a choice of one of the three paths (Truth, Love, or Courage).[4]
