Letter from Stanley to Guard Captain Cugel, Ardoris is a quest item you can receive by speaking to Stanley in Soltown. You can only receive this item one time per character.
Sir Cugel,
I am sure you are aware of the recent battle that took place in Solace Bridge, given that troops from Ardoris are reported to have fallen there. I have entrusted the outlander who bears this message to see it safely to you; the outlander was a survivor of the attack and may have insights to offer as well.
Soltown is now under great strain from the aftermath of this attack. We do not have nearly enough fighting men to repel any attack should the undead move south in strength, and we are unable to evacuate the village due to our giving shelter to the survivors of Solace Bridge and other points nearby.
At the earliest possible time, Soltown requires a detachment of guards for the general defense. This is by far the most pressing of our priorities. Due to the survivors that we are sheltering, we are also in great need of food, clothing, tents, and at least one healer if possible, but the need to protect our borders takes precedence.
I await your word swiftly and wish you well in these trying of times.
