Community Livestream/Celebrating Release 46

00:01 welcome everybody to this week's
00:04 community livestream we didn't have one
00:06 last week so we have quite a bit of
00:08 stuff to show you and talk about today
00:10 we've got Fletcher who's gonna come on
00:12 and show some of the cool items and
00:14 other things that you've seen in the
00:15 weekly updates we've got star who's
00:17 going to be coming on to talk all about
00:18 quarter four and what's coming up we
00:21 just released a new build to the game
00:23 yesterday where we are now in our 46 and
00:27 I think I got the number right and it's
00:30 so many so many every month we release a
00:32 new candidate build to the game to the
00:34 community you guys and we just had it
00:37 tested for the past week in QA thanks to
00:41 everybody who had submitted bugs and
00:43 feedback on that we feel very excited
00:46 about this release and are already
00:48 preparing for the next quarter of
00:51 releases it's crazy and start has a lot
00:53 to talk about
00:53 with those and what's coming up for the
00:56 rest of the year we also have community
00:58 events kicking off we just had the dance
01:00 party you guys may be still dancing in
01:02 the game I am even patching another
01:04 patch of the game we are on six six five
01:07 that you should be receiving so if
01:10 you've been in the game for a while you
01:12 can
01:13 thanks yep just got done - as I was
01:15 talking about that you can exit the game
01:17 restart it you should be able to patch -

01:52 what about patch 666 I knew somebody was
01:55 going to bring that up well that's
01:58 obviously after 6 6 5 so we'll see
02:03 that's in the future I don't think we're
02:04 gonna actually patch that today I think
02:06 6 6 5 is probably the last for today and
02:10 we definitely don't patch on Saturdays
02:11 and Sundays unless
02:12 some sort of emergency which there
02:14 doesn't seem to be but if there is you
02:16 guys having issues in the game you're
02:17 getting stuck crashing whatever let us
02:20 know we've got the r46
02:22 forms ready to go in the down it's just
02:26 on
02:27 five six sections of the forms anyway at
02:30 least 46 find it in the forms post your
02:33 feedback there's a bug section as you
02:35 guys know as well Floyd bucks and I have
02:39 twitch chat we monitor both I have
02:42 twitch chat up and because I am so on
02:45 the tech side of things here at portal
02:48 area I use my phone for discourse that's
02:52 how much I love you guys on discord its
02:54 exclusive to my phone and I'm just
02:57 checking to see everybody can hear me
02:58 and I'm not speaking on a muted mic we
03:02 speaking of that we've got a new mic
03:05 which we I don't think we've tested it
03:08 we tested it once on the community
03:10 livestream and we now have a new camera
03:12 you may see even more details and you
03:15 probably want to see now with this
03:17 crystal-clear new can no it's not 4k I
03:19 know somebody was gonna ask that it is
03:21 still 1080p that's really all we need I
03:24 think but it should be even better for
03:25 the telephones which speaking of we
03:27 announced the next tells on our 46
03:29 telethon coming up in October October is
03:33 crazy guys I took a look at the
03:35 community events section of the forms
03:37 and what you have been all posting and
03:40 talking about there are more community
03:42 events there and one month that that
03:43 we've seen in quite a while it's really
03:46 amazing so if you if you don't know what
03:48 I'm talking about going to the forms of
03:50 the website show the Avatar calm and you
03:53 scroll down you'll see community events
03:55 and this is one great area for everybody
03:58 check out what are you guys posting in
04:00 the community and we have events kicking
04:05 off this weekend we had the dance party
04:06 today it's still going on probably a few
04:09 people always are there later in the
04:11 evening I know I'm going to dance late
04:14 at night and weekends especially not the
04:17 dancing part but other community events
04:19 kicking off so we've got a bunch of cool
04:21 stuff that we've seen you guys kick off
04:23 already this weekend
04:25 into October and October 12th being the
04:29 telethon it's going to be exciting to
04:31 have that and we also have right after
04:34 the telethon literally one day after
04:36 soda con soda con 13th 14th 15th a lot
04:40 of great stuff planned for those who
04:41 attend I hope that you are able to have
04:44 attended if you did miss it and you're
04:48 not able to then no worries still be
04:51 next year's event and we encourage you
04:53 to come for that you've probably seen
04:56 the message behind here let me get all
04:59 the way there it is BRE can you guys in

06:04 being given away so when I list them off
06:06 here or you win one you want to know
06:09 what are the heck does this thing look
06:10 like you can go to the store and just
06:12 check out the screenshots that are
06:13 listed for it we have an ornate pillory
06:16 now that a pillory is the they I guess
06:21 they actually used to use these in
06:23 medieval times all sorts of crazy stuff
06:25 and you put your well you don't do it
06:28 somebody forces you to do it you put
06:30 your arms in a too like there's a wood
06:34 plank or a wooden whatever you call it
06:37 and then you put
06:38 arms like this and then your head as
06:41 well and then they close a top wooden
06:46 part and then they cut your head off
06:47 actually I'm not sure about that last
06:49 part but I won't be surprised if that
06:51 happened - but it's there - to put - so
06:57 you can't move and then whomever it put
07:00 you there can beat you I guess or
07:03 something I don't know you guys tell me
07:05 in chat what do they use for don't tell
07:08 me you use one hopefully not but

07:12 if you guys knew this this really has

07:23 a really awesome Texas wine sauce vessel
07:25 which is kicking off this weekend goes
07:27 for two months and there was a pillory
07:30 there and this lady she like stuck me in
07:32 it and then she had this little not to
07:35 get into details but she had this little
07:37 whip thing so I guess it's used for that
07:40 too
07:40 I don't know anyway moving on we're also
07:43 giving away in our night bone chime
07:44 we're gonna give away two of those we
07:47 are giving away a Viking merchant outfit
07:49 and a 20-17 this is very exclusive this
07:53 is only for a limited time 2017 special
07:57 item for the season 2017 and I
08:01 misspelled that spook spooky wearable

08:06 2016 pack we fresh ended up that item
08:10 because there's so many cool things in

09:53 week we're gonna have Halloween themed
09:56 shenanigans all month in fact i am happy
10:01 to announce something very exclusive for
10:04 you guys that has not been announced in
10:07 the weekly update weekly update by the
10:09 way has been announced it's on the front
10:11 page of the website so you can see what
10:13 we put in there the email will go out
10:15 right after this livestream and one
10:19 thing that we we were gonna put it into
10:20 the weekly update but we didn't quite
10:22 get to it was a let me see let me make
10:25 sure I have the name here in an event
10:32 and you can guess what themed event it
10:34 might be Halloween themed of course for
10:37 next month we're not it's going to be a
10:39 contest and we're calling it nightmares
10:43 of the avatar it's that cool if you got
10:48 a better name we haven't announced it
10:50 officially yet give us a better name I
10:52 think nightmares of the avatar works no
10:55 nightmares of new Britannia also works
10:58 or something better that you guys can
11:01 suggest we will announce it on Monday
11:04 you want to get a head start on the
11:05 contest it's gonna be a two-part contest
11:07 it's going to be a cosplay style contest
11:10 decorate your character in a ghoulish
11:13 spooky Halloween themed outfit and
11:19 running around taking screenshots
11:20 yourself naked in the game is not well
11:24 that is creepy but that's not ballads
11:26 don't do that the other side of this
11:30 contest is it's kind of a step up here
11:33 if you want to decorate you have a lot
11:35 you have a house you want to decorate
11:38 that in all sorts of new content that we
11:41 put in to the game we've got craftable
11:43 x' all sorts of ghoulish creepy cool
11:45 craftable items that last year's
11:48 Halloween contest was amazing
11:50 you guys really did some incredible work
11:53 on all sorts of from the small rural
11:56 houses all the way up to castle size
11:58 lots the work you put into the halloween
12:01 themed decorations there was was really
12:05 cool so we want to we want to run
12:06 another contest for you guys on that so
12:08 start thinking of what you want to put
12:10 on your lots I know some of you have
12:11 already started decorating in the
12:13 Halloween theme and also your character
12:15 is in fact I saw some really cool
12:17 characters at the dance party that was
12:19 fun
12:21 flashbacks of the Viet Abbott ours
12:26 didn't think of that
12:28 interesting name nightmares before the
12:31 avatar weight nightmares before the
12:33 avatar scares of the avatar I like the I
12:39 like the names this is promising
12:41 we don't have to do of the avatar I
12:43 don't know if you guys are tired of
12:44 everything of the avatar
12:49 how do we get that winner of the of the

14:44 prison house so yeah I know he's gonna
14:47 be showing that but let me show some of

15:01 Saturday at 8 to 11 p.m. Central Time or

15:15 have already started and run through the
15:18 weekends so you're going to want to
15:19 check all those out we've posted all
15:21 these events in the community events tab
15:23 go to the main menu community check out
15:26 the event calendar there they're also
15:28 posted as I
15:29 earlier in the forms of the Community
15:31 Events section for release 46 and you'll
15:34 see a whole bunch of those in there I
15:36 don't have them all listed here today
15:37 there's so many to cover but just for
15:41 this weekend's there's that Veritas
15:43 sanctuary one and the hungry eyes in the
15:45 darkness also airy fund has an extra
15:49 life virtues versus chaos event I want
15:52 to see in chat right now everybody
15:54 are you virtuous or are you chaotic

17:32 concert around 5 o'clock Central time
17:35 today which is in 40 minutes in Veritas
17:39 Sanctuary also
17:42 crafting event there was one held
17:44 earlier today apologies for the patches
17:47 trying to fix the game up a little bit
17:50 from the release you know tweaking a few
17:52 things before the weekend and when we do
17:54 some patches like that sometimes the
17:56 server has to be restarted and we were
17:58 disrupted some of the events that were
17:59 going on this morning
18:01 apologies about that but if you were
18:03 looking forward to the crafting event
18:04 this morning don't worry will be held in
18:07 Veritas sanctuary at 11:00 to 1:00
18:09 tomorrow Central Time new Britannia time
18:12 and there's lots of GM crafters that are
18:15 going to be there to show you a little
18:17 bit about you know how to craft they're
18:18 going to mentor you it's gonna be it's
18:19 going to be really great and also Sunday
18:22 public auction also in Veritas sanctuary
18:25 I'm not sure what time that auction is
18:26 but just check out the r46 event section
18:30 of the forums for that
18:31 news from the weekly update so I took
18:34 over that real quick the making a black
18:36 plate foothills Northman Mar way and
18:39 North Clell way are all scenes that
18:41 we've posted about all coming up in our
18:44 47 or beyond a lot of really great
18:47 screenshots there from the usual
18:48 suspects

18:52 you know I'm in the forms inning the
18:53 game we've also Travis and vas Kor port
18:58 and others that contributed our 46 plus

19:13 announce speaking of last release our 45
19:16 raffle winners we've been doing that on
19:17 a monthly basis you don't have a house

20:13 excited about you know we this last
20:14 release we improve load times hopefully
20:16 you guys thought that the load times
20:18 were slightly better in some of the
20:21 scenes significant noticeable yes we're
20:25 going to be continuing to improve that
20:26 we've moving on to also more general
20:29 performance improvements and then as
20:32 usual spring cleaning good goody content
20:34 in there as well we we have Hutch who
20:41 helps I prison-house I mean bringing him
20:43 in actually right now I don't know what
20:45 everybody is doing in the office they
20:47 are all here but sometimes I get to feel
20:50 in that day they're working super hard
20:52 to get you guys content and just don't
20:54 have time to get on the livestream which
20:55 is OK hopefully you guys are okay with
20:56 that
20:57 all right so we've got okay some

21:07 it's really something that you really

21:55 experience a few years ago I heard you
21:58 had way there go into detail I did not
22:00 go anything everybody wants the details

22:10 so I think we covered that let's

22:46 a add on store five story row basement
22:49 as well the basements are fun
22:53 provide a lot of extra space if you have
22:56 a wrong house I'll show you guys men
22:57 will show that to you all right so I
23:00 think I've got what you need here let's

24:53 see the theme that we wanted to go with
24:57 this year for Halloween especially was a
25:01 prison theme so we we came up with a
25:04 bunch of different items that could fit
25:06 into that theme and we'll be coming up
25:08 with more more thematic types of
25:12 decorations that you can use in these
25:15 houses in future releases but for now
25:18 I'm going to go through just a few of
25:20 the things that we've made in this
25:22 release that are available right now in
25:23 our forty-six so this is the new and
25:28 free gift there's you know a few other
25:31 there's lots of things attached to it
25:33 but this is the new prison row home it's
25:37 a three-story row house this happens to
25:40 be on a village lot right now just so I
25:45 could you know show some signs and
25:48 things attached to the outside if this
25:50 had been if this were placed on a row
25:52 lot unless it was on a corner you
25:56 wouldn't be able to attach things on to
25:58 the you know the side like this because
26:01 there would be another house there or
26:05 even if it was a row lot the sign would
26:08 go over the extent of the robot itself
26:11 so you wouldn't be able to hang a sign
26:12 like this on it unless it's on a village
26:14 lot or higher although we do have these
26:20 these types of signs that can fit on a
26:23 robot even if it's honor
26:25 you can fit on the house even if it's
26:27 not a robot so anyway
26:32 you may have seen a post in the forum
26:34 about this house it was inspired by a
26:36 you know two or two or three different
26:40 main sources of medieval prisons most
26:44 heavily influenced by one in I think
26:51 Ponte de Lima Portugal I think if I'm if
26:55 memory serves me but anyway some of the
26:59 things that we wanted to go with here
27:00 were to make it look suitably aged and
27:04 suitably bleak and because it's a prison
27:08 we didn't want it to feel like it had
27:10 lots of creature comforts or anything
27:12 like that well we have a question from
27:14 someone what are these clothes you are
27:15 wearing are they how their prison
27:17 related no they look like they could be
27:19 no they're not I think believe it's the
27:21 assassins armor right yeah well can you
27:27 pull it up should so the assassins chest
27:34 armor assassins leggings and so forth
27:37 razors and boots yeah great guess raven
27:43 swift boat assassins is correct looks
27:45 great doesn't it alright so let's go on
27:47 I'll go inside I won't linger too long
27:50 so you have the keys in case you get
27:51 locked in I'm sure I got the keys to the
27:54 kingdom so the there's a couple
27:56 different that door styles the this
27:59 prison door is a heavy wood door and it
28:01 has a little sliding panel there so you
28:07 can see who's knocking on the door I
28:08 guess you could also look out the window
28:10 these barred windows so because it's a
28:13 row home it fits on a 10 by 15 meter lot
28:17 so the initial area here is kind of a

29:38 for the hallway underneath to put
29:41 another floor in there are no there I'm
29:44 sorry another cell in there so it has a
29:45 total of nine prison cells in this
29:48 particular house plus that little
29:51 interrogation room in the bottom and
29:53 then you can also get to the roof you
29:56 have roof access through this hatch here
29:59 open it if you want go up to the roof
30:04 and this is this has a little guard
30:06 station with an even higher post up here
30:13 for the prison guards or maybe you can
30:18 what else would you put up there well as
30:20 can you put it up there you have your
30:22 little you could put the pillory up
30:24 there as opposed are you guys doing it

33:39 multiple floors of cells underneath you
33:41 so it's the same layout it's got the
33:44 same interrogation room and the same
33:46 security doors
33:47 instead but instead of going up we go
33:51 down and this happens to be a five
33:54 storey basement that's in that store
33:57 that's an add-on store house or basement
34:02 there's a really cool you could decorate
34:04 I would I can't wait for how I gave
34:09 everybody I came to the Halloween
34:10 costume or the cowing contest they're
34:12 gonna be two parts to that if you're
34:14 just tuning in everybody we announce

34:24 style decorate your character wearables
34:28 contest in a Halloween theme and also a
34:32 decoration contest for your lot or house

34:41 and lots of opportunities to decorate it
34:43 in a new leash creepy spooky kind of way
34:45 so I'm looking forward to seeing if
34:47 anybody gets this and decorates it out

34:53 floor and here I am on the bottom floor
34:55 so the bottom floor has five cells just
34:57 like the top floor on the above-ground
34:58 version had five cells so I think that
35:02 amounts to 17 cells in this particular
35:05 house or basement I should say might be
35:07 enough for my plan there I'm surprised
35:12 nobody has asked yet but are there any
35:15 secret rooms there are no secret rooms
35:18 well maybe that's a spoilers spoilers

36:09 how to get to it because there's a maze
36:11 of hallways and you're always circling
36:13 around you're like where is everybody
36:14 and that's what I felt like in the game

36:19 frustrating all incoming actually here
36:22 where are we this doesn't look like a
36:24 normal map this is that this is our one
36:26 of our dev testing Maps I'm gonna set
36:29 the time of day here so we can see it
36:32 better this is just that we call this
36:34 the decoration stations where we go to
36:36 test houses and TECO's and other things
36:39 like that so i outfit this character or
36:43 this this lot with some of the different
36:46 things so here's here's some of the
36:48 prison science that we have available

36:53 prison theme that's the the basic would
36:55 one and then we have some more elaborate
37:00 yeah there's the fantasy brass type and
37:03 in wall hanging and an floor version
37:10 there's a fancy wood one and that's the
37:14 steel one I think those are all I think
37:17 those are all atoms or things that true
37:20 yes I don't know if there's craftable
37:22 ones actually but these are these are
37:24 definitely had on store well how about
37:29 we look at those pillories that you're

39:56 just fantasizing that's a cool story

40:02 prison cage this is another lot
40:04 decoration that you can you can put on
40:09 your lot to outfit it forward

40:19 throw tomatoes and I don't know that was
40:21 in here that somebody suggested that to
40:23 they you could throw stuff at people
40:24 yeah somebody suggested the you know
40:26 throw tomatoes that would be that would
40:29 be so here's the ornate version and
40:34 similarly it's got that magic symbol on
40:36 there which is approach to aid and your
40:39 ability to keep even the most powerful
40:41 people cooped up in it
40:52 so that's the prison stuff that we've
40:55 got I'm going to quickly run over here
40:59 and show you a couple other the
41:00 Halloween things these are the Halloween
41:02 jack-o'-lanterns for 2017 it's exclusive
41:07 for this season that's right these are
41:09 the ones that were just for this year
41:13 candles in the community nice bat smile
41:16 it's classic smiley face and what else
41:19 there's a cap and then this one here is
41:30 the one that you can actually wear is it
41:33 as a mask oh it's that one yeah so let
41:39 me show you that this pack there are six
41:43 of them this pack is available also in
41:47 the add-on store as well as a six pack
41:52 and as part of the repack or it's also
41:56 including in the repack of a bunch of
41:58 items now shoot it's not showing up I
42:03 could have given away one of those
42:05 actually I think about it I don't know
42:09 if anybody actually wants pumpkins well
42:11 so the last thing I want to show is is
42:13 the is the Headless Horseman Grim Reaper
42:17 statues that we made this this release
42:19 there's two sizes one is greater than
42:24 life size it's comparable to the fire
42:27 elemental statue that you may know
42:31 actually a little bit taller because the
42:33 horse is rearing back on its hind legs
42:35 and it's a little bit wider because he's
42:38 holding the scythe and then there's also
42:42 a small version
42:43 he's about 40% that's the other one you
42:47 could yeah that'll fit in the in even
42:51 the smallest of houses problem row
42:53 houses or citizen houses one quick point
42:55 about these you see the very beautiful
42:58 effect on the scythe if you get these or
43:02 you see these and a half
43:04 kind of a yellow plane issue you do not
43:06 have what is it you don't have your
43:08 bloomin able do you need to make sure
43:09 your bloom is enabled it's but your
43:11 camera post-effects otherwise it will
43:14 show up kind of yellow you won't have
43:16 that that little glow to it but but yeah
43:20 there we go the it's funny when the
43:24 story behind this statue you know we
43:26 input in previous years we did a couple
43:29 Grim Reaper's you know the first year
43:31 just kind of a standard Grim Reaper the
43:33 second year we had a dual side we
43:36 looking wielding Grim Reaper with a kind
43:39 of a deer skull or a cow skull oops
43:43 maybe go skull oh it's gone nice and
43:46 that was really cool this year we we
43:48 were thinking well okay what are we
43:49 gonna do for this year's Grim Reaper me
43:51 thought well shoot you know let's try
43:55 and come up with something even cooler
43:56 so scar and I just started talking about
43:59 well it should be a headless horseman
44:02 but the horseman is the is the Grim
44:04 Reaper and he's wielding the size that
44:08 you can you can get on the store and
44:10 actually there's a couple different
44:12 sides we made one as a store version one
44:14 is gonna be an NBC dropping one is yeah
44:18 I knew about the credible and I don't
44:19 know very nice so you there's a chance
44:22 for them to get it on well not this one
44:24 this is the the one with the rooms is
44:27 the add-on store but anyway that the
44:31 that is the 2017 Grim Reaper statue we
44:36 have a question from joerger can you
44:38 confirm that the light effect is
44:40 different on the pumpkin for the statues
44:43 it looks different so I think he's I
44:45 think they mean that lighting effect
44:47 versus the regular pumpkins I believe
44:51 yeah so this one has a little bit of a
44:53 flicker set my game time to alternate
45:03 too many times if you see sort of
45:06 nighttime dusk so this one has a thicker
45:11 in glow the pumpkins
45:15 since the candle is much smaller
45:17 doesn't have it don't have any flickers
45:19 on there there's not much difference
45:24 other than size and and the flickering
45:28 effect and of course this you know
45:31 inferno up here in the in the pumpkin
45:34 yeah I actually exactly my place
45:37 this particular one a couple of days
45:40 goes we're preparing for the release and
45:42 it was raining a storm heavy storm you
45:45 know look like your typical Friday the
45:47 13th ghoulish evening so it was a really
45:49 perfect evening to place the statue
45:51 statue still worked flame and all in the
45:54 rainstorm so innocent so we got to come
45:58 it doesn't look like the little statue
45:59 close it doesn't have a large doesn't
46:04 have a large range like the large statue
46:07 does it does have a little does have a
46:11 little tea light in there so there is it
46:16 is a small light source but because it's
46:20 such a small candle it's not going to
46:24 extend out beyond that's something we
46:27 can maybe address but currently it's my
46:30 design all eyes think you know if you're
46:32 especially placing that indoors the
46:35 lighting accents of whatever you have
46:37 indoors you can adjust to you know I
46:40 think I think it would complement it if
46:42 it's outdoors like this well yeah it may
46:44 be a little darker right yeah just like
46:49 that

55:55 that had these unbelievable
55:58 skull dungeons or skull rooms just
56:02 filled with skulls I think a couple of
56:04 skulls were actually mine in there as

56:12 reminder to everybody we unofficially
56:14 announced the next contest
56:16 going to be a two-part contest where
56:17 they're going to use some of these
56:19 wearables decorate a Halloween themed
56:21 Halloween guys can be as long as it's
56:24 something spooky creepy in evilly yeah
56:29 that sort of thing
56:31 it doesn't have to be literal like to
56:33 what you would consider Halloween per se
56:35 you know just something of that sort of
56:38 general broad theme yeah second part of

56:50 you to enter in for both but you only be
