Martella, the master of fire magic, will not instruct me in how to summon fire elementals until I slay Xavara, the Pillar of Flame, and return with her ashes. Xavara can be found in Nightshade Pass, among pools of sulfur across the lake from the citadel called Hilt Fortress.
