Merchant Types are a Specialty designation assigned to each Merchant Vendor, and vary by what type of Merchant Inventory it sells to the Avatar.
- Each Merchant Type has a base set of merchant inventory items for sale.
- Each Merchant Type is associated to Crafting, Combat, Decoration, Music or Housing systems.
- Each Merchant Type NPC has different title names displayed in the NPCs nameplate.

- Baker (Items related to the Cooking Skill)
- Blacksmith (Items and recipes related to the Blacksmithing and Smelting Skills).
- Brewing Supplies Merchant (All Items related to the Brewing Category of the Cooking Skill).
- Butchery Supplies Merchant (Items related to the Cooking and Field Dressing Skills).
- Carpenter (Items and recipes related to the Carpentry and Milling Skill).
- Cooking Supplies Merchant (Items and recipes related to the Cooking Skill).
- Crafting Merchant (Molds, Fuels, Tools relating to all Crafting Skills and Arrows and Taming recipes, Wooden Taming Necklace)
- Crafting Supplies Merchant (Symbols, Molds, Fuels, Tools relating to all Crafting Skills)
- Farm Supplies Merchant (Items related to the Agriculture Skill).
- Fishing Supplies Merchant (Items related to the Fishing Skill)
- Florist (All Rose Items related to the Agriculture and Carpentry Skills).
- Tailor (Items and all recipes for Tailoring, Textiles and Tanning Skills).
- Tanner (Items and some recipes related to the Tanning Skills)
- Textile Merchant (Tools and Fuel related to the Textiles Skill)

- Merchant Regional Diversification and Cleanup: We did a major pass through all the merchants in the game to ensure that the merchants matched the shop they were placed in, had different inventories in each city and region to reward exploration, added merchants that were missing, and fixed any broken merchants.[1] NOTE: This is extremely old information and is only intended for reference.
