Attenuation

Jump to navigation Jump to search

Attenuation means that your experience point gain has been limited because you have acquired more than 15 million adventurer experience points within an hour.

When you have gained 15 million Adventurer Experience points within an hour, you will receive a temporary debuff that slows the rate at which you can acquire more adventurer experience via combat (an "attenuation" icon will appear next to your "pooled experience" when looking at the "Adventuring" tab of the Skills Window). When you have the attenuation debuff, the rate at which you gain additional adventurer experience will progressively decline as you acquire more experience points (to the point where experience gain is almost negligible when you exceed 20 million experience in an hour). Note that the Attenuation debuff ONLY applies to experience received through combat (Adventurer Experience gained from quest completion or from meticulous collections is not limited by attenuation). Also, Offline mode has no limit on experience gain.[1]

The Attenuation debuff will eventually go away if you avoid combat or dramatically reduce how much experience you are acquiring (it typically takes 30-60 minutes to go away if you avoid combat).

Trivia[edit]

  • Attenuation was added in Release 49 in order to allow the addition of endless wave experiences, which are used in places like the control points.
