Ignite Signal Fire
Location: Jotungrund
NPCs: Wymond
Quest Items: None
Description: I have to light a signal fire.
Related Quests: Tell Wymond About Signal Fire

This is the first part of a 3 part Daily Quest offered by Wymond in Jotungrund.

  • Part 1: Ignite Signal Fire - speak to Wymond, who is located at the Explore's Camp near the Entrance of Jotungrund (at the north end of the zone). Wymond asks you to light one of 8 signal fires that are located throughout the zone (each time he will ask you to light a different signal fire). The signal fires are each atop a tower. Wymond will tell you the general direction of the signal tower that you need to light. However, if you forget which one, you can look at your map, and the tower that needs to be lit will have a blue point-of-interest marker on the map (assuming you have previously been to that tower and have discovered its location). When you find the correct tower, climb to the top, and light the signal fire (by left-clicking on it).
  • Part 2: Tell Wymond About Signal Fire - return to Wymond and tell him "signal fire". Wymond will give you a quest item called Wymond's Marker.
  • Part 3: Deliver Wymond's Marker - give Wymond's Marker to Hisa (who is also located in the Explorer's Camp in Jotungrund). Hisa will reward you will gold, an Ice Hammer of Jotungrund, Common, Pure Elemental Ice, and 65,828 experience points (or 131,656 during double XP). The is also a rare chance she will give you a Wax Cylinder - Frozen Tears of a Lost Tribe. Also, the first time you complete this quest, you will be given Recipe: Frost Giant's Helm Trophy.

Journal[edit]

I met an explorer named Wymond on the edge of the Jotungrund tundra. There are several signal fires in the area that he tries keeping lit, but the storms keep killing them. Exposure to the extreme weather in the region is getting to him and he asked for my help in igniting a fire on a high ridge above his camp.
