Pooled Experience
When you gain Experience Points (XP), the XP accumulates in an Experience Pool. When you train a skill (or skills), the XP is transferred from the Pooled Experience and into the skill being trained (which raise the skill's level).
There are two main types of Pooled Experience:
XP in the Producer Pool can only be applied toward increasing the level of Crafting Skills, whereas XP in the Adventurer Pool can only be applied toward increasing the level of Adventuring Skills.
You can view your Experience Pools at any time by the following methods:
- Open the Skills Window (Press the "k" key or select "Skills" from the Window Selector Menu), then click the relevant tab in the upper left (the "Crafting" tab will show the Producer Pool at the bottom of the window and the "Adventuring" tab will show the Adventurer Pool at the bottom of the window).
- Type the /xp command in the Chat Window. This will output the currently available Pooled Experience (Character), Pooled Experience (Shared), and Pooled Experience (Total). For details on these pool variations, see below.
Experience Pool Subdivisions[edit]
Most XP is awarded to the currently active character on an account. However, some XP is awarded to the account (and thus can be shared by all characters on the account). An example of XP that is awarded to the account is the daily log-in XP reward (every day that you log into Shroud of the Avatar, will earn the characters you play 10,000 experience points for the initial character and 2,500 for each additional character on the same account. These points will be added to the shared pool).
Both the Adventurer Experience Pool and Producer Experience Pool have three different account-based subdivisions:
- Pooled Experience (Character) - This XP is available only to the currently active character, and the XP cannot be used by other characters on the account.
- Pooled Experience (Shared) - This XP is available to all characters on the same account, so the XP is shared amongst these characters.
- Pooled Experience (Total) - this is the sum of the character pool and shared pool, and represents the total amount of XP that is available to the currently active character.
You can view these pools in the chat window by typing "/xp" (without the quotes) in the chat window.
You can ignore these subdivisions if you are only playing one character on your account. If you play more than one character on your account, then you can ignore these subdivisions unless you want to share some of the XP between characters.
