Upon completing the Episode 1 Main Quests, specifically The Path of the Oracle, the Oracle presents the Avatar with the Shroud of the Avatar.
The shroud is a Quest Item that remains in your Inventory at all times, but can be equipped in the back slot on your Character Sheet. The Shroud has zero weight, so it will not contribute to Encumbrance.
The Shroud of the Avatar will visually display the Avatar’s current state of virtue by varying in color:[1]
- The shroud appears white for those following an overwhelmingly virtuous path.
- The shroud appears grey to those whose stance with the virtues is neutral.
- The shroud appears black for those with negative virtue.
The buffs on the shroud are also dependent on the Avatar's virtues.
- The Strength buff is related to a higher Courage value.
- The Dexterity buff is related to a higher Love value.
- The Intelligence buff is related to a higher Truth value.
- The Move Speed buff is related to a lower Courage value.
- The Attack Speed buff is related to a lower Love value.
- The Magic Resistance buff is related to a lower Truth value.
Visuals & Showing/Hiding the Shroud[edit]
The shroud's color will vary depending on the wearer's virtue (see above).
When the shroud is equipped, you can hide the shroud visuals such that you cannot see the shroud on your avatar. You can toggle the shroud visuals on or off using either of the following methods.
- Open the Character Sheet window, right-click on the shroud that is equipped, then select "Hide Cloak" or "Show Cloak".
- Right-click on your Avatar's name in the upper left of the game window, then select "Hide Cloak" or "Show Cloak".
When the shroud is equipped and not hidden, the hood of the shroud will be visible if you have nothing equipped in the head slot. If you equip an item in the head slot, the shroud's hood will disappear and the head slot item will appear (but the cloak part of the shroud will still be visible).
