Well

You can find a Well in many Adventuring Areas, NPC Towns, and Player Owned Towns. Many of these wells have the same base model, but various decorations may be added to them such they may appear somewhat different across scenes.
There are 3 types of wells: a wishing well, a Water Well, and a Well that Conceals Something. Sometimes these wells look similar, but you can determine which type you are looking at by right-clicking on the well, and then left-clicking on the well.
- Water Well - when right-clicked, this well will not display the "examine" menu. When left-clicked, this well will provide a bucket of water (and possibly a pattern; see below).
- Well That Conceals Something - when right-clicked, this well will not display the "examine" menu. When left-clicked this well will not provide bucket of water, but it may reveal something else that is hidden in the well. This type of well is found in Ruined Keep.
- Wishing Well - the wishing well can be divided into two categories based on its location. When left-clicked, both of these wishing wells provide a bucket of water (and may provide a pattern; see below).
- Wishing Well in an adventure scene or NPC town (see Wishing Well (Scene)) - when right-clicked, this well will display the "examine" menu. This type of well is found in Deep Ravenswood, Necropolis Barrens, Aerie, Grusk, Port Graff, Solace Bridge Outskirts, etc.
- Wishing Well in a Player Owned Town (see Wishing Well) - when right-clicked, this well may display the "examine" menu. When wishing wells are not located on a lot, they apparently only show the "examine menu" for stewards and governors of the player owned town. When the well is located on a lot, access to the well may depend on the permissions settings on the well and/or on the lot.
You can obtain a bucket of water from both wishing wells and water wells (see #1 below); however, only wishing wells allow you to toss in a gold coin for a chance to obtain a reward.
Potential ways in which you can interact with a well:
- 1) Left click on them - When you left click on either a water well or a wishing well, you will always receive one Bucket of Water. Also, there a small chance it will give you the Pattern: Water Well Dungeon Entrance. When you left click on a well that conceals something, you will reveal the secret (but will not receive a bucket of water or pattern).
- 2) Right click on them - when you right click on a wishing well, a small menu pops-up that says "examine". If you click examine, you will be asked if you want to toss a coin in the well. If you toss a coin in the well, you have a chance to receive a randomly selected reward (such as a book or fireworks). You can increase your chances of getting a reward by equipping the following items: Ring of Luck, Ring of Luck, Greater, and/or Water Magic Cloak (note: you can equip 2 rings at a time). If you do not get a reward from the well, there is no "cool down" and you can immediately toss another coin in the well to try for a reward. If you get a reward from the well, there is a one week cooldown before you can toss another coin in the well (during this "cooldown", examining the well will show a chat message that "The item (wishing well) does not seem to do anything" and you will not be given the option to toss a coin in the well). You have to wait for the "cool down" to go away before you can toss in another coin.
