Gem is a crafting recipe category item of several different Gem items. These various Gem items can be crafted with the Alchemy skill or found as loot.
Gem items can be socketed into crafted and artifact chest armor, weapons and shields with the Alchemy skill. When added to an item, it will add the items material crafting bonus to the item.
