Lava is molten rock that flows from a volcano or from a fissure on the planet's surface.
Lava has two important functions in SOTA:
- Lava inflicts fire damage over time - if the avatar comes in contact with the lava, the avatar will sustain fire damage. It usually takes several casts of Douse to extinguish the fire damage.
- Some Lava allows for lava Fishing - if the lava does not allow fishing (i.e. the lava is too shallow to sustain fish), then the fishing reticle will appear red. If the lava does allow fishing (i.e. it is deep enough to sustain fish), then the fishing reticle will appear light blue. See Fishing for details.
Lava fishing can be accomplished in a Player Owned Town by placing a fishable decorative lava pool in the Player Owned Town, on a Lot, in a Basement, or in a Player Dungeon.
