Lot
| Examples of Different Size Lots | |
A lot (also known as a property) is a portion of land or water within a town on which a Property Marker has been placed.
Unclaimed lots can be claimed by players using an appropriately sized Lot Deed (certain restrictions apply).
Lot Sizes[edit]
There are several lot sizes (listed from smallest to largest):
Scenes that Have Lots[edit]
Lots may be found in Player Owned Towns, Player Run Towns, and NPC Towns.
Larger towns have the capacity for more lots, and will often have more of the larger lot sizes.
Finding an Available (Unclaimed) Lot[edit]
When in a scene with lots, you can identify available lots by the following methods:
- Ask town criers or guards - mention "free lot", and they will respond by displaying a list of all lots in the scene. Under the "Owner Name" column, a lot will be listed as "Available" if it is unclaimed. To help you navigate to a specific lot, you can click on a lot in the listing, and then click on "Set Compass Destination" (this will create a red house icon on your compass that you can use to find your way to the lot).
- Press & Hold down the P key - this will send an upward white smoke-like stream from the property marker of any nearby unclaimed lots (tapping the P key will not work, you must hold down the P key; also P is the default key-bind for this, but you can change which key is used in the Options > Controls menu under "Ping Lot Signs").
- Double-click on a Property Marker - the property marker window that pops up will state "unclaimed" if the lot is available.

Setting Permissions on A Lot[edit]
You can only set permissions on a lot if you have claimed the lot with a Lot Deed.
Double-click on the Property Marker of the lot. In the window that pops up, click the upper blue cog on the right side of the window and then click the desired permission type:
- Manage Lot access - this option allows you to give special access permissions to specific players. It also allows you to ban players from entering your house, basement, and dungeon (note that a banned player is not actually banned from entering the lot, they are only banned from entering the house, basement, and dungeon). This option also allows you to set the lot's house as a Guild Chapter House, and to set Strict Deco Move Permission.
- Decoration Settings - assigns permissions to all decorations as they are placed on the lot or in the house. Note that when you change these settings, it does not alter the permission settings of decorations that have been previously placed; it will only assign the new permissions to decorations that are subsequently placed. Also, you can override the lot-based permissions by right-clicking on individual decorations. For more details, see Setting Permissions For Decorations.
