mimic chests and barrels both seem to drop player crafted gear. I've gotten a Bear Headress +2 Crafted by Khal Drogo. Also, Wolf Headdress Crafted by Saevio Vehemens.
Just a guess -- items that expire on vendors are stored in a file and randomly spawned in mimic loot tables?
- Not just Mimics; gear that is sold to merchants, or expire on vendors, are placed into the loot table for many creatures, including all humanoids, mimics, and others. These are generally in Supply Bundles, but can also drop singly. The grade of gear determines the tier of scene where the loot will appear.
