Image Rearrangement[edit]

I think we should consider modifying the image placement in this template. There are lots of items that we have large images for, due to them being included in the Update of the Avatar, but do not have drag icons. I think swapping the images might make more sense in the long run. Here's what I'm thinking.

I think this would make everything a little cleaner, especially until we get dragicons for all items. (The template is locked, so an admin would need to make this change; I'm not sure of the exact coding necessary to move/fix the Icon row.) --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 03:34, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

I prefer the icon on top for four reasons.
1) From a usefulness while playing the game perspective the icon is what they are going need to be able to recognize while digging through their packs and/or vice versa it is what they will identify the item with on the wiki and then be looking for when they are digging in their packs. Also it is what they will be seeing elsewhere on the wiki in recipe lists and such.
2) Size-wise the icon is predictably small, of matching qualities and (usually) squarish. The image is going to be a range of sizes, ratios and qualities. Causes a lack of consistency which shouldn't be at the top of the infobox. Better to have it at the bottom where the picture can stretch as far down as it likes.
3) Images are bigger so having them on top forces the other useful information down further.
4) I'm making an estimated guess but I think all items will have icons but not all items will have images. Iron Hilt for example will probably never have an image.
(Random fact: We currently have 161 icons and 123 images) -- Fenyx4 (talk) 16:37, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
Wouldn't it just be easier to use the icon as the image if no actual image exists then? I'm not sure why we want to show both. I really don't like seeing the large image below all of the other information; it looks very odd. If we want to use the icon in the infobox, then the main image should probably be removed and placed in the topic itself. --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 17:37, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
I still think having an image in there is useful. Just not top of the infobox useful. I tweaked the example to what I think will be more common in the long run an in game screenshot showing what the item will look like on their character. -- Fenyx4 (talk) 18:26, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
What about items that don't have dragicons, such as pledge rewards? Runic Language Translation
My call would be that it isn't an in-game item and thus should use a different infobox. -- Fenyx4 (talk) 18:45, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
I would like to "Axe" the add-on bit from the infobox and move it to the main page. Heh, see what I did there? Violation (talk) 13:25, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
I have updated Axe of Prosperity to reflect what we talked about on the SotA forums and above. I have moved the large image out of the Infobox into a gallery, added CSS to the gallery to match the Infobox coloring, and cleaned up the flow. I will set up a separate infobox for non-game items to make them use a similar format. --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 15:00, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Add-On Store
Price: $15
Limited: 32/2048
Add-On Store pricing does not reflect sales. Some items are seasonal or limited and are listed for historical information. Availability not guaranteed.

I made a stab at incorporating the add-on store information into the infobox (see right). Not happy with it but putting it up in case someone can make it work. I think I'm with Violation though; it should be removed from the infobox and put in its own section. -- Fenyx4 (talk) 15:55, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

What about moving this to the DigitalStore template, so its in its own box? --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 16:21, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
Ooo, that could work. I think two full infoboxes stacked on top of eachother is sorta ugly though. What if it was a little one like on this Wikipedia page or this one? -- Fenyx4 (talk) 16:36, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
I removed the caption and am using headings instead. I'm kinda digging the semi-transparency; perhaps we should use that on the icon line here as well? --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 17:15, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
I updated this with the combined templates to show what they would look like stacked, and to test using the header background on the icon. I think it looks good; we need to add "clear:right" to the Infobox style so they don't indent each other, and it will require another pass through all of the Items to create the gallery, but I like it! --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 18:09, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
I prefer the in-game screenshots or other non-icon images for items to be separate from the infobox. Either in a gallery section or a thumbnail for longer articles. The separate Add-on Store infobox below the main infobox looks good. --Alianin (talk) 18:22, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
I shall stop pushing on having a single in-game screenshot in the infobox as well as having a gallery as I seem to be thoroughly outvoted. I really like what you have done with the separate infobox Browncoat. -- Fenyx4 (talk) 18:53, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
Just wow... exactly what I see above at the time of this posting... love it... perfect... hero! Violation (talk) 19:21, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Ok, I've updated the DigitalStore template to include the new infobox. I'm not sure how to modify this template to have a header row instead of a standard row for the icon, so I'll let someone else fix that. I'm going through a pass now to correct everything that uses the DigitalStore template, then I'll start on the other items. --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 19:27, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Parameters[edit]

The strength parameter is not showing up when it's used, also shouldn't sdd either be removed or hidden since as far as I know it's been replaced with strength bonus? I also think we need to add Parry on there(f.x parry minparry) and maybe even include the "Hits x Target(s)". --Menchi (talk) 06:58, 12 May 2017 (MDT)

I'll review the in-game values to see what's missing. It doesn't look like strength ever got added as a valid property, but sdd seems to have been used for both. I'll see what I can do to clean this up. --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 09:09, 12 May 2017 (MDT)
