Named NPCs[edit]

Just FYI, but when an NPC goes from unnamed to named, we can just rename the topic rather than recreate it. For example, we could have easily renamed Bookseller (Brittany Wharfs)‎‎ to Bryce Chapman and saved you a lot of work. For now, I've changed the unnamed version to a redirect to the new NPC.

Thanks for helping update the wiki! --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 07:44, 28 January 2019 (MST)

Ahhh! I wasn't sure if we could rename. I will keep that in mind next time. Thank you! - Jaesun

Crafted vs. Lootable Items[edit]

Sorry, I realize I just edited pages you were working on. Let's keep the player crafted items under the Wooden Long Bow and Wooden Short Bow pages. This is how they are referred to when doing things that will accept multiple types, like Masterworking. Items that are purchased or looted will not have the distinctions, so we don't want to put crafting information on those pages.

Let me know if you have questions. --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 10:39, 15 February 2019 (MST)

Oh ok got ya! Yeah for the Masterworking I can see now how that would then need to work. Will do! -Jason

Player Vendors[edit]

I saw your addition on Hardened Leather Straps about player vendors. This really applies to any item that can be sold. I'm thinking we should just add something to the vendor query that adds that line to that section; thoughts? --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 13:40, 10 August 2020 (UTC)

Perhaps add something (to the vendor query, for items not on NPC merchants) like: There are currently no NPC merchants that sell Recipe: Hardened Leather Straps. You may be able to find this item from Supply Bundles or from Player Owned Vendors.
That at least gives anyone viewing this recipe and looking for it, the very basic information to try and go find this item.
I often hear from time to time in chat (or in a private message) the current "There are currently no merchants that sell Recipe: Hardened Leather Straps." does not provide anyone reading that all the information. They aren't aware (or even told) about the item *could* also be found on Player Owned Vendors.
I feel that adding that message would then provide the very basics of a new user, viewing this recipe, all they information of where to begin looking for this item (and others that are only drop). Do you think that would work?

I'm still trying to get a query working that will actually show which supply bundle things can appear on, but it requires a wiki update to use. That will happen at some point. I'll add the info about the player vendors to the merchant query. --Browncoat Jayson (talk) 15:12, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
Sounds good!! Thank you! -Jaesun
